Hi, I’m Sharon Runde.
Sugar Science was built on the belief that dessert is never just dessert—it is part of how we celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories.
At its core, this work is about people. It is about the moments we mark, the relationships we honor, and the care we put into bringing those experiences to life.
My love of baking began in the kitchens of my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Some of my earliest and most meaningful memories were made alongside them—learning not just recipes, but the feeling of creating something special for others.
Those experiences shaped the way I see this work today. Baking became more than a skill—it became a way to stay connected to them, and a way to create that same feeling of connection for others.
That sense of care, tradition, and meaning is at the heart of everything I create. You will see this in many of the products I offer such as Bea’s Pecan Pie, Patty’s New York Cheesecake, Patrick’s Lemon Meringue Pie, and Jasmine’s Lime Pie. All of these desserts, and more, have special meaning for me and I look forward to sharing them with you, too.
My Approach
What makes Sugar Science different is the way each piece is created.
I work closely with my clients as a quiet, behind-the-scenes creative partner—taking the time to understand their vision, their story, and what they want people to feel in a moment.
From there, I translate those ideas into fully custom, artistic designs that are thoughtful, intentional, and one of a kind.
This is not a template-based process. Every detail is considered, and every creation is designed specifically for the person and the occasion being celebrated.
Respect, Curiosity, Details
I believe in listening carefully, communicating clearly, and creating an experience where clients feel understood, supported, and confident throughout the process.
The goal is always the same: to deliver something of exceptional quality that feels as meaningful as it is beautiful.
Effortless, lasting personal impact
Clients know they can trust that every detail will be handled with care. They are able to enjoy the process, feel confident in the outcome, and be fully present in their celebration.
The most meaningful moments are often the simplest—seeing a client’s reaction, hearing the excitement in their voice, and watching guests genuinely enjoy what has been created
